Our Weekend Adventure...

Our adventure started several months ago when I booked a trip on a whim to celebrate Brad's 27th Birthday. He is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and a friend of mine at work mentioned that they would be playing the Denver Broncos in October. I went on-line booked the air, car, and hotel, then bought tickets to the game. I wanted it to be a compete surprise to Brad so I made up a story about going with my parents to their condos this weekend so he could get today off. Then I kept my secret all this time. Last Friday I got off work early to pack our bags and put them in the car. Then on Saturday morning we woke up and took the kids to Hogle Zoo to see the new baby Elephant. She was cute. We even got to see the gorilla, which is always hiding.

My mom came with us and took the kids home, I told Brad we going to go out and celebrate his Birthday early since we had a babysitter. I blind folded him and drove to the Airport. He got out of the car, took off his blind fold and looked at me with a curious look. We got our bags out and got on a shuttle. I was going to keep our destination a secret until he got the bording pass but our shuttle was full of Broncos and Cowboys fans. They kept asking us if we were going to the game. He turned to me and said are we? I pulled out the tickets and he was excited. Our first NFL game experience. We had a blast, the night we got in we went to Bubba Gump Shrimp resteraunt, it was yummy! Sunday we went to Mile High Stadium to see what we hoped a Cowboys victory. There were 75,688 in attendance. The stadium was amazing, nothing like the U, where we spend our weekends when they are at home. Cowboys fans surrounded us. We had more Cowboys fans than Broncos fans around us. When we thought they won, Denver surprised us all and scored a field goal and a touchdown to go ahead by seven. The Cowboys had a shot in the last minute of the game but blew it when they were on the 2 yard line. The team we were cheering for lost but the experience was amazing. Needless to say it was an adventure and the first real trip Brad and I have taken in our six years of marriage. It is one we will never forget!

Go Utes!!!

Brad and I love football season. We each cheer for a different NFL team Brad the Cowboys and I cheer for the Chargers. One thing we do agree on is Utah Football. This is our third season of having season tickets and absolutely love it. We sit on the 7th row in the North End Zone. We don't really go on dates the first half of the year, but football comes around and we get our stadium seats and Brad's parents get excited (they get to see the kids more since they babysit), and we eat the best corn dogs ever. It is my dream date. I never knew this about myself, I use to think I was a walk on the beach sort of girl, but football makes me happy. This has become a passion of mine. I know it is weird but I love football. I have been going to a football camp with my friend Jen at the U and we love learning about the players, listening to coach review game footage, and learning about the game of football. We get a free t-shirt and get dinner each time we go. It is awesome.
