Helmet Update

Macie had two appointments today. One with the Orthotics place and on with the Plastic Surgeon. The verdict is in, she has to wear the helmet full time for another six weeks. They would like her forehead to be developed more.

This is today's scan. It shows that her diagonal measurements are only off by 6mm. Her head has grown immensely.

The first picture is Macie's head pre-helmet, not so round. The second picture is taken only a month after she started wearing the helmet. The last one was taken today, 3 months later.

Each month they do a 3-D scan of Macie's head. The first picture is of the first scan, if you look on the left side you will see a flat spot and if you notice her hears are not straight across from each other. Then if you look at the second picture the flat spot is gone and her ears are closer to being straight across from each other.

To do this scan they have to put a nylon sock on her head. I always forget to take my camera to get a picture of her in it so today I asked if I could take the sock home so I could take a picture of her. She looks so cute in it.

So we have another six weeks which will put her at 10 months old and having to wear the helmet for approx 4.5 months.

That is amazing how much the helmet has helped her. Sad that she has to wear it for 6 more weeks, but she is so cute with it.
